Approach To: Headaches

Tips:

• Ask the right questions, and then ask them again a different way
• Consider the “can’t miss diagnoses” for every patient
• Don’t use “worst headache of life” for SAH.  Think: “SUDDEN onset. MAX at onset.”
• History of migraine doesn’t mean the patient can’t have another serious pathology
• Do a HA physical exam:  Neuro, CN, Eyes, Cerebellar
